A Study of Fluctuations Stock Prices in the Colombo Stock Exchange (2012)

A stock market is a public entity, for the trading of company stock (shares) at an agreed price. Purchasing shares in Sri Lanka can be a successful money earning venture if carried out with the proper understanding of the behavior of the fluctuation of stock prices. Before buying shares, prospective share holders should examine the company will be profit making one in the future.

Main aim of this project is to predict the share price of almost all the companies in a particular category such as Plantation, Banks – Finance & Insurance, Food & Beverage, …etc.
1. Literature survey of CSE (Colombo Stock Exchange).
2. Collect the past data of the daily stock prices from the CSE.
3. Implement a suitable mathematical model for the data collected above. 4. Advising the prospective buyers on the future profit making company.

This study will provide an opportunity of obtaining a broad idea about the CSE, how to create a suitable mathematical model, studying Mathematica 7.0 / 8.0 Computer Algebraic Package and mathematical techniques used to predict the share prices in CSE.
